Honorable (top) Mention Company.
  Hewlett-Packard - Hewlett-Packard deserves a mention because they make many great peoducts. I would highly recommend anty printers or scanners from my personal use and experiences. HP makes many products from projectors to printers to digital cameras. Their website is a must-see.
Scanner technologies for creating images.
  Microtek - also produces several large bed (up to "12 X "17") scanners starting at about $1,000 and up.
This company also makes Monitors, Digital Cameras & projectors.
  Ideal Scanners - Has many types of scanners, large and small bed. Also they have several job specific types of scanners (such as Black and White, aperture card and 35MM film scanners)
This company also makes Intelligent Raster and CAD software, Document Management Software and offers scanning services.
  Xerox - Xerox makes only a few scanner only products one smaller size, but they make 2 very large (wide format) scanners capable of handling blueprints and sepias up to 42" wide by "100 long.
Xerox also makes Controllers and servers, Monitors, Printers, Copiers, Fax Machines and offers Wide Format Solutions for printing and scanning/Copying.
Digital Camera Technologies.
  Kodak - Makes many digital cameras from lower end easier priced to top of the line expensive but very good picture quality cameras.
Kodak also makes photo papaer and docking solutions to connect your camera to printers and computers.
 

Fuji - Fuji has a wide array of digital cameras for the first time user to the experienced photographer, and they have a good way to compare several of their cameras at once to see which one is right for you.
Fuji also make a wide variety of hardware and software from printers to audio & video media

Capturing video from tape or DVD.
  ATI - ATI makes their "All-in-Wonder line of graphics cards that allow for in/capturing from video sources from outside the computer such as Video tapes, Video Cameras, Laser Disc Players and even cable input straight from the cable jack on the wall or from your cable bax. The All-in-Wonder cards also enable output to all the same kinds of video devices and straight to your Television and to VCR's so you can tape your animations.
  NVIDIA - NVIDIA makes many great graphics cards for all kinds of uses from gaming to home theater.
NVIDIA Personal Cinema(link to EXPLOSIVE LABS page) - allows for video and cable input for capturing and enables output to VCR's and Television.
Image editing software to adjust 1) size, brightness or other effects.
2) edit by cropping, rotating, etc...
3) re-format into other file types.
4) create from scratch.
 

Adobe Photoshop - Adobe Photoshop is my instrument (software) of choice. It is cumbersome for the beginner, but once you learn the basics, it is very easy to use. Photoshop is easy to learn and very powerful. The experienced user may alter images with a professional effect and even create images from scratch.

Paint Shop Pro - Paint Shop Pro is a powerful easy to use image editing software. It allows simole tasks to more powerful imag effects.
Paint Shop Pro is made by JASC Software - They also make Photo Album software. JASC offers support and tutorials online.


 

Microsoft Paint - usually comes bundled with your Windows Operating System and is simple and easy to use but only allows for you to do basic image creation and/or manipulation.
Microsoft Paint tutorials - are easy to find and allow you to learn quickly and easily
